George Jones famously drove a John Deere lawn tractor to a liquor store after his wife had taken away his car keys to keep him from driving drunk. The incident was later memorialized as part of country music lore in numerous songs and videos, including Jones’ own “Honky Tonk Song” in 1996. Twelve years earlier, the video for Hank Williams Jr.’s “All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight” featured George Jones riding a lawnmower. Vince Gill’s 1993 hit “One More Last Chance” includes the line, “She might have took my car keys, but she forgot about my old John Deere.” The video ends with Gill on a John Deere tractor passing Jones on a John Deere lawnmower. The video for John Rich’s “Country Done Come to Town” also features Jones on a riding lawnmower.[53]

John Deere is a company, by the way, that is seriously serious about preventing people from copying their stuff. So serious, in fact, that they even locked the PDF they sent to the Copyright Office. No modifying the document. And no copying passages. Really, John Deere? How am I supposed to highlight all that’s wrong in this document now? Screenshot by Kyle Wiens

While the front-end loaders on CUT size tractors are capable of many tasks, given their relatively small size and low capacities when compared to commercial loaders, the compact loaders can be made more useful with some simple options. A toothbar is commonly added to the front edge of a loader bucket to aid with digging. Some loaders are equipped with a quick coupler, otherwise known as a quick attach (QA) system. The QA system allows the bucket to be removed easily and other tools to be added in its place. Common additions include a set of pallet forks for lifting pallets of goods or a bale spear for lifting hay bales.
Excavators (hydraulic) are heavy construction equipment consisting of a boom, dipper (or stick), bucket and cab on a rotating platform known as the “house”.[1] The house sits atop an undercarriage with tracks or wheels. They are a natural progression from the steam shovels and often mistakenly called power shovels. All movement and functions of a hydraulic excavator are accomplished through the use of hydraulic fluid, with hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic motors.[2] Due to the linear actuation of hydraulic cylinders, their mode of operation is fundamentally different from cable-operated excavators which use winches and steel ropes to accomplish the movements.[3]
When you’re looking to rent an excavator, it’s particularly important to pay attention to their specifications. There are dozens of excavators available on the rental market, but each of them has different power requirements, weight, and bucket sizes. Those three factors can determine the amount of material that can be moved at one time, as well as how long it will take to complete a particular job.
Front loaders gained popularity during the last two decades, especially in urban engineering projects and small earthmoving works. Heavy equipment manufacturers offer a wide range of loader sizes and duties.
Prior to World War II, Henry Zimmerer became a retail Case tractor dealer in Gainesville, Texas.  With the coming of World War II which led to a shortage of tractors and equipment to sell, Henry went back to full time farming. After the war, Henry, Vincent, and Bruno formed “Zimmerer Bros.” Comprised of three farms totaling approximately 1300 acres, they specialized in three main harvests: small grain, hay and beef cattle. They took great pride in the quality of their hay. They became the supplier of bedding straw and feed hay for the Fort Worth Stock Show.
Deere & Company began when John Deere, born in Rutland, Vermont, USA on February 7, 1804, moved to Grand Detour, Illinois in 1836 to escape bankruptcy in Vermont. Already an established blacksmith, Deere opened a 1,378-square-foot (128 m2) shop in Grand Detour in 1837, which allowed him to serve as a general repairman in the village, as well as a manufacturer of small tools such as pitchforks and shovels. Small tools production was just a start; the item that set him apart was the self-scouring steel plow, which was pioneered in 1837 when John Deere fashioned a Scottish steel saw blade into a plow. Prior to Deere’s steel plow, most farmers used iron or wooden plows to which the rich Midwestern soil stuck, so had to be cleaned frequently. The smooth-sided steel plow solved this problem, and greatly aided migration into the American Great Plains in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Who likes dropping or spilling materials? No one. That’s why CASE’s innovative Ride Control™ feature is such a benefit. Just push a button to automatically steady the loader arm when traveling at elevated speeds and the machine automatically compensates with greater shock absorption and reduced loader arm bounce, so you can work faster than ever without spilling your load.

During the fall of 1996, a 51-year-old wife of an Iowa farmer was killed while building a new farmhouse. The Iowa FACE program became aware of the incident by a telephone call from the county Sheriff. Additional information was gathered from newspapers and the police, and a site visit was conducted later in the fall by the Iowa FACE investigator and a farm safety specialist. They interviewed the farmer, saw the home still under construction, and photographed the tractor, which was being used daily on the farm. The family farm consisted of the farmer, his wife, and two of their sons, one of whom was injured in this incident. They produced corn, hogs and cattle. The farmer, his wife, and their 21-year-old son were working together when the fatal injury occurred.

Hydraulic excavator capabilities have expanded far beyond excavation tasks with buckets. With the advent of hydraulic-powered attachments such as a breaker, a grapple or an auger, the excavator is frequently used in many applications other than excavation. Many excavators feature a quick coupler for simplified attachment mounting, increasing the machine’s utilization on the jobsite. Excavators are usually employed together with loaders and bulldozers. Most wheeled, compact and some medium-sized (11 to 18-tonne) excavators have a backfill (or dozer) blade. This is a horizontal bulldozer-like blade attached to the undercarriage and is used for levelling and pushing removed material back into a hole.

According to information released by the company at the time of the event, John Deere dealers and key employees came to Dallas via the “largest commercial airlift of its type ever attempted.” During the 24 hours leading up to the event, 16 airlines brought Deere employees and sales people from all over the United States and Canada to Love Field in Dallas. Bill Hewitt, then chairman and CEO of Deere & Company, welcomed the dealers and introduced the new tractors. Hewitt told the guests they were about to see “a line of entirely new tractors – completely modern in every respect – with outstanding features not duplicated in any other make of tractor.”
Safety- Entrapment hazards can happen to operators when they try to maneuver levers and controls from outside the skid loader’s protective frame, or from misunderstandings in communication between the operator and helpers. Many arms, hands, legs and feet have had to be amputated because of a crushing injury occurring when the bucket or lift arms move unexpectedly. Always ensure the following:
The chains and sprockets are located inside the frame, in a sealed compartment. They are immersed in an oil bath that keeps them lubricated. Each drive sprocket is connected to a hub via a short shaft. The shaft passes through several seals before connecting to the hub, which holds the wheel.

Even when the gradient changes or the vehicle lurches, the tractor always levels itself, whether in soft ground with a lot of moist or in cultivated land with uneven surface. Thus, it allows you to work precisely without being affected by field conditions.
The two main sections of an excavator are the undercarriage and the house. The undercarriage includes the blade (if fitted), tracks, track frame, and final drives, which have a hydraulic motor and gearing providing the drive to the individual tracks, and the house includes the operator cab, counterweight, engine, fuel and hydraulic oil tanks. The house attaches to the undercarriage by way of a center pin. High pressure oil is supplied to the tracks’ hydraulic motors through a hydraulic swivel at the axis of the pin, allowing the machine to slew 360° unhindered.[8]
